Sitting Pretty

Part of this 1917 pretty dove grey painted weatherboard house was the original Head Gardeners Cottage for the Cracroft Estate. Tucked out of the easterly and light filled most of the rooms are outward looking to the garden and the snow covered mountains.
Fine building materials of Cedar and Rimu, beautiful original lead lights and intricate fretwork around the veranda and conservatory will delight the traditionalist who yearns to own a character home on the hills.
Although sixteen years ago the house was enlarged there is potential to add value. Downstairs is an "apartment", a sensitive addition, with master bedroom, separate study or dressing room and an ensuite. A large double garage capable of housing 4 wheel drive vehicles with adjoining rumpus room was also built sixteen years ago. Gorgeous and varied flat garden and balcony areas mean that every hour of the day the owners can relax outside in the sun
